Lecture #101: The Art of Garden Photography

With Donna Krischan's help, you can take your garden photography from simple snapshots to works of art. Whether you shoot digital or film, use a compact camera or SLR, Donna will offer tips to improve your photos. To get the most out of the information presented, you may want to consider bringing your camera and manual to the session.

Lecture #102: The Technique Of Garden Photography

Come to the garden and learn how to improve your garden photos both technically and artistically. Discussions will focus on camera settings, light and composition. Donna will demonstrate a variety of photographic techniques. Your questions are encouraged.

This is a hands-on workshop so be sure to bring your camera, manual and any accessories you may have. Dress appropriately for spending time outdoors.

Lecture #103: Group Critique Sessions

To improve your photography, you need to learn to critique your own images. You begin by having your images critiqued by another. A critique is not just an opinion. It is an explanation of what works and what doesn't work in a particular image and why. Learning is accelerated when comments are directed toward a specific image rather than discussed in abstract. It is also great fun to see different photographer's interpretations of an assigned theme.

Bio: Donna Krischan

Donna Krischan is a garden photographer and writer. Her photographs have appeared in numerous magazines, calendars and books. She and her husband Tom write the "In the Garden" column for Milwaukee Home and Fine Living magazine. They tend a 1 acre flower and vegetable garden in Big Bend, Wisconsin with their Vizsla dogs - Heather and Zedd.
