Sarracenia purpurea subspecies purpurea Sarracenia purpurea is native to Wisconsin. It is wide ranging and grows in most of the eastern US and Canada. 6/8/2011 Sarracenia purpurea subspecies purpurea forms purple colored pitchers with exposure to bright direct sunlight.
