6/24/2011 Dryopteris clintoniana 2 inches tall. Clump 2 inches wide, measured at frond tips capturing maximum width of plant. Frond production significantly reduced, plant appears fragile and struggling to survive. Not a happy specimen. Likely showing effects from tornado damage (21 June 2010) and exposure to much higher light conditions due to canopy reduction. B41.

9/06/2010 Dryopteris clintoniana 4 inches tall. Clump 9 inches wide, measured at frond tips capturing maximum width of plant. Several older fronds appear sunburnt, brown and yellowed. B41.

Fern survived F1 Tornado with significant damage (21 June 2010). Exposed to much higher light conditions due to canopy reduction.

6/24/2011 Dryopteris clintoniana 12 inches tall. Clump 13 inches wide, measured at frond tips capturing maximum width of plant. Frond production slightly reduced due to reported trampling of plant by Canis domesticus vizslaea. Plant regrew quickly after trama by that darn puppy. No ill effects showing from tornado damage (21 June 2010). Plant looks strong. L31.
