9/06/2010 Thelypteris decursive-pinnata 5 inches tall. Clump 10 inches wide, measured at frond tips capturing maximum width of plant. Fern appears to be regenerating in different location, notice the original lifeless clump on rightside of image. B24.
Fern survived F1 Tornado without damage (21 June 2010), however it became exposed to much higher light conditions due to canopy reduction.
6/07/2010 Thelypteris decursive-pinnata grew well during the first season (2008), then seemed to die out in 2009. The original planted root mass is still visable and lifeless. An unknown fern emerged about 8 inches from the dead root mass in 2010. It appears to be an offshoot of Thelypteris decursive-pinnata, but the identification remains tentative until the fern matures.
