Genus Brassavola

Genus: Brassavola, pronounced bra-SAH-voh-lah, abbreviated (B).

Bigeneric Hybrid: Brassocattleya, pronounced bra-SAH-KAT-lee-ah, abbreviated (BC), cross between two genera (= Brassavola x Cattleya).

Plants on this page contain at least 25% Brassavola nodosa. We have found all of these plants to be exceptionally easy to rebloom. A spectacular hybrid is grex Brassolaelia Richard Mueller, which is a cross of Brassavola nodosa with Laelia milleri. Many of our favorite plants contain Brassolaelia Richard Mueller as an ancestor.
