|Corallorhiza striata||Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin|
These images were taken at the June 23, 2007, nature walk at Toft's Point.
Nearly all plants were single stemmed. Plants were located near a fallen birch tree and beneath a canopy of tall hemlock. Nearby forest vegetation were Bracken fern and Thimbleberry.
These images were taken on a June 22, 2007, hike at The Ridges Sanctuary. The number of plants were significantly fewer then counted in our 2003 hike. Water level appeared 18 inches below normal. Perhaps the drier conditions contributed to fewer observable plants.
This was the largest cluster found, 6 stems. All plants were observed within a 40 foot section and nowhere else on our hike.
