Anemone nemorosa 'Vestal'

5/06/2010 Anemone nemorosa 'Vestal' flowering. 'Vestal' is one of many cultivars of this species. In Greek mythology, the physician Pliny claimed that Anemone flowers were only opened by the wind. And thus named them after the Greek gods of wind, "Anemos".
5/06/2010 Anemone nemorosa flower. White petals, white sepals. Fades to brown with age.
