Noxious Weeds Violations in Town
Description of Weeds
#20080806-009a. 6 August 2008. Photograph showing field of Giant Ragweed (Ambrosia trifida). There are literally thousands of plants displayed, many are 5 to 6 feet in height. This is the largest population of Giant Ragweed that I have observed in the Town.
#20080806-009c. 6 August 2008. Photograph showing field of Canada Thistle (Cirsium arvense), Common Ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia), and Musk Thistle (Carduus nutans). This was a thick mat of nearly impenetrable thistles that grew in height to 3 or 4 feet.
#20080806-009d. 6 August 2008. Photograph showing close up of Canada Thistle (Cirsium arvense) with late stage seed head about to be wind distributed with the next strong gust. There were perhaps millions of mature seeds found in just this one lot.
#20080806-009e. 6 August 2008. Photograph showing close up of Musk Thistle (Carduus nutans). This thistle is particularly well armed and is challenging to put by hand even when wearing canvas work gloves.
